Lenka’s Medium Bobbins are suitable for variety of wire lace projects from lace art and sculpture to wearable art.

Highly functional all-around tool, the medium bobbin serves especially well for transitioning from fibre to wire lacework. It accommodates palms down technique and tensioning style, which is most common, and it works equally well for palms up technique, which I recommend for wire work.

The medium bobbin is suitable for complete beginners, as well as intermediate and experienced lacemakers. It adapts to variety of materials, from single wire, double wire, and multiple strands, up to a beaded gimp. While it is specially designed for work with enamelled copper, steel and bronze, it can be also used for metallic threads.
The bobbins are recommended for medium to large size patterns in wide variety of lace styles including plaited lace, torchon and other ground based laces, as well as free form designs. The medium bobbins do not require any special attention. They become extensions of the wires and allow the lacemaker to fully concentrate on the stitches.
