In this video I talk about intermittent fasting and its benefits.
Intermittent fasting is not a diet, however, it is used to lose weight. It is a way of controlling when you eat and when you don't eat.
I personally use a 16/8 intermittent fasting method where I eat within an 8 hour feeding window (between then hours of 12-8) and fast for 16 hours.
Intermittent fasting has allowed me to stay lean at 40 years of age, however, it does have many other benefits besides just fat loss and weight loss.
The benefits of intermittent fasting start at about 12 hours of not eating. After 12 hours fasting your body has depleted its glycogen stores and at that point it starts to tap into fat stores for energy.
Some of the benefits of intermittent fasting include:
1. Fat loss
2. Weight loss
3. Increased insulin sensitivity which can help to prevent diabetes
4. Improves healing - when your body spends less time digesting food all day long, it has more energy to focus on healing itself
5. Increases Human Growth Hormone - your joints will hurt less, you'll burn more fat, you'll retain lean muscle mass, your skin will look better
Those are just some of the benefits of intermittent fasting and it's what's helped me to lose weight fast while enjoying the foods I love.
