Marlfield House  | Marian & Philip | Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
When I met with Marian she was in the family home outside Courtown. This household was so relaxed that Marian did her own makeup as well as her mothers.Down the road in Marlfied House, Philp and his family were getting into their wedding attire. Back at the Carrol house, we got some family photos in the tree lined drive.Just before Marian arrived for the wedding ceremony at Marlfield House there was a heavy show of rain. There was a quick dash inside for the guests as the staff seating dry.Roseanna Howell, an aunt of the bride was the officiant of the marriage ceremony.Marian got quite emotional as her father took her down the aisle.Gary Stephens providing music on his guitar during the ceremonyPhilip and Marian said their vows and exchanged their wedding rings. There was also a  handfasting ceremony, which has its roots in ancient Celtic tradition. In ancient Ireland, when two people chose to be married, they were brought together to have a braided cord or ribbon tied around their hands. Marian and Philip made their way down the aisle. We then headed off to get some photos around the magnificent grounds of the hotel. The guests settled into the Gin bar and drinks reception that was outside the conservatory.The hotel is set in 36 acres of woodland, ornamental lake, rose, vegetable and herb gardens, it even has peacocks roaming around. There were so many different areas to use for the bridal photos. After a quick walk through the gardens, we made it back to the drinks reception where Philip and Marian were congratulated by their friends and family. There were just two speeches. One from Marian's father, John and the other by Philip. It was then time for the wedding meal in one of the hotel's beautiful dining rooms.Thanks for having me as your wedding photographer.
