NL | Le moment décisif. Het yes-moment van een fotograaf. Voor Vanfleteren was dat toen hij deze foto op de basiliek van Koekelberg nam, waar hij exact op het juiste moment de foto afklikte. Een leuk weetje: de dochter van het koppel dat op de basiliek wordt afgebeeld, zag de foto in 2007 in het FOMU hangen en herkende haar ouders. Samen met haar moeder schreef ze een briefje aan Vanfleteren. In deze vierde aflevering uit Present at home zetten we de Belgicum-reeks van Vanfleteren centraal, met deze foto in Koekelberg maar ook met een reeks armoedeportretten, genomen in Antwerpen en Brussel.
Nu het FOMU wegens de maatregelen tegen het corona virus gesloten is, brengen we de expo Stephan Vanfleteren - Present tot bij de bezoekers thuis. In zes afleveringen leidt FOMU-gids Karolien je doorheen het leven en werk van Vanfleteren. Twee keer per week posten we een aflevering van Present at home, via onze Facebookpagina, via Instagram, Vimeo en fomu.be.

ENG | Le moment décisif. A photographer's yes moment. The photograph he made on top of the basilica of Koekelberg was Vanfleteren's yes moment. He presses the shutter at exactly the right time.
Fun fact: the daughter of the couple depicted saw the photo in FOMU in 2007 and recognized her parents. She and her mother wrote a note to Vanfleteren.

In this fourth episode from Present at home we focus on the Belgicum series by Vanfleteren, with this photo in Koekelberg but also with a series of poverty portraits, taken in Antwerp and Brussels.

Now that FOMU is closed to prevent the spread of the corona virus, we are bringing the exhibition to our visitors at home. In six episodes, FOMU guide Karolien will guide you through the life and work of Vanfleteren. Twice a week we post an episode of the virtual tour via Instagram and Facebook, on Vimeo and on fomu.be.
