JForum is a powerful and robust discussion board system implemented in Java. It provides an attractive interface, an efficient forum engine, an easy to use administrative panel, an advanced permission control system and much more. Built from the ground up around an MVC framework, it can be deployed on any servlet container or application server running on Java 7 (or newer), such as Tomcat or JBoss/WildFly. Its clean design and implementation make JForum easy to customize and extend. This project has evolved from the original JForum 2.1.9 that was developed by Rafael Steil, which is now obsolete. It focuses on bug fixing and security patches, and on keeping third party Java libraries up-to-date to the latest stable version. Newer versions also have substantial new features such as mobile-friendly pages, searchability of attachments, wiki-like topics, board-wide announcements, social media integration and more.
Like the original JForum, it is freely available under the BSD license.
