At our 4th annual Religious Leaders Panel, we explored how different faiths can work together for the greater good.
About the panel:
Rabbi Neil Blumofe leads Agudas Achim, a synagogue in North Austin. He is a classically-trained pianist and jazz composer, and he is a radio personality for the NPR affiliate KUT. Rabbi Blumofe teaches both Jewish Studies and Jazz Studies at St. Edward's University. He graduated from Tulane University and holds Rabbinic Ordinations from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York and the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles. He is on the board of the Interfaith Action of Central Texas.
Venerable Jue Ji serves at Xiang Yun Temple in Austin under the Chinese Buddhist monastic order Fo Guang Shan. She is in charge of inter-religious dialogues (e.g. Interfaith Action of Central Texas, Interfaith Ambassador of Lake Travis) and gives Buddhism introductory lectures to students of all backgrounds. Ven. Ji was born in Taiwan and has been a Buddhist nun since 1990. She has a Ph.D. from the Centre of Buddhist Studies at Hong Kong University.
The Reverend Ken Malcolm is the chaplain at Trinity Episcopal School. His duties include leading daily worship, teaching religion classes, coaching multiple sports, offering pastoral care, and overseeing community outreach and service learning. He's also a parent of two Trinity students. Father Malcolm previously served in multiple roles for The Episcopal Diocese of Colorado.
