Previous creative and editorial ambitions for the OB set had been constrained by the physical limitations of the tiny space allocated to us (5x5 metres). We went down this route to break free from the physical constraints of the tiny studio space, whilst still having the iconic vista of the stadium visible through the real window behind the presenter & pundits. There was a desire to increase the production levels to allow us to bring some of the 'TV Magic' we use on other studio based productions to our premium product on the road. We wanted to develop a set that would allow us to tell the editorial story of each game, as it unfolded. The vision was to create a set that our guests could interact with, creating an informative and stimulating experience for viewers.
