The exhibition DE_CANTINA is located in the computer game COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE on a server named "DE_CANTINA_OFFICIAL". The exhibition can also be experienced through physical documentation at Cantina's premises on Godsbanen.
Cantina's concrete architecture and surroundings have been recreated as a playable 3D map? named DE_CANTINA in the popular e-sports COUNTER STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE. DE_CANTINA functions as an exhibition space while being played like any other CS:GO MAP with conditions dictated by the rules of COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (often abbreviated CS: GO) is a tactical online first-person shooter game. Each team (of 5 players) starts at each end of a map. The teams have different roles, one team (the terrorists) must try to fight the counter terrorists and get the bomb planted. The other team plays as counter terrorists (police) and must try to defeat the terrorists and dismantle the bomb. Each match consists of up to 30 rounds. The team that reaches a win of 16 rounds first will win the game.
At DE_CANTINA, the artists Aske Thiberg and Line Finderup Jensen exhibit works that revolve around themes such as; the nostalgia that can be associated with computer games, the dichotomy between the good and the bad, the gamer as an executant, puppies and much more.
