Emili has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is not in a great way right now but the prognosis is that she will make a full recovery. She has been sick in various ways since 2017 and has been trying to get a diagnosis since then. She came to me looking for a vehicle to tell her story.
Cancer in Covid will reveal what it was like to receive a cancer diagnosis on the doorstep of a worldwide pandemic. With friends unable to visit and just too sick to move around very much, I tasked Emili with creating a journal of her experiences. I have given her a pro-sumer camera and she is capturing the pandemic from inside her diagnosis and treatment. The video footage is accompanied by a written journal that details her feelings, anxieties and experiences during every stage of her treatment and recovery in Covid.
