There are so many things that are special about Battle Lake. It is a hidden gem. It has been discovered by many people because it about triples in size in the summertime. I've just been surprised at the amount of things to do for a small town, whether it's going on the trail, which is right by our house that goes out to Glendalough or going to one of the beaches or one of the parks. It just really caters to people who want to do things outside and want to be a part of a rich community.

- Battle Lake is a great place for families, both to live and also attend school. Battle Lake School is an award-winning school, having received several federal and state awards, and also a place where kids are genuinely cared for Students attending Battle Lake School are actually quite fortunate. They have big school experiences in a small school environment. Our community is a phenomenal place to live. There's just so much for people to do. And people in this community are friendly, they help out and they want other people to come and visit our wonderful community.

- Battle Lake is a great community to have a business and it's a great community to be involved in. I have been involved in the childcare center, I was on the board. I am actively involved in different community organizations, one being Network of Battle Lake, and the other recently is I have joined the Battle Lake Rescue Squad. So it gives me opportunity to see and help those out in the community.

- I might be a little biased because I'm a teacher here, but I believe that Battle Lake has one of the best schools in the area. I'm the agriculture education teacher. And so we have a 10 acre garden right out back of the football field. And the kids are very excited about that they get to grow their own food. And we have an aquaculture system at our school where we can grow and produce our own tilapia and our own veggies from those tilapia as well. It's a very diverse school when it comes to curriculum, we even have Chinese. I think just the diverse learning culture that Battle Lake has is one of its greatest strengths.

- Battle Lake School also is very fortunate in our little community to have a childcare facility that our students can benefit from. For families with really young kids, there's an educational component in the childcare center. But the nice thing is that it's a great transition to our three and four year old preschool program here at school. So families do not need to go out of the community to find those services. We have that right here.

- First of all, I never really thought I'd be in a town of 800. I was always looking for something bigger 'cause I thought that's where the opportunities and the activity was going to be happening. But when we came to Battle Lake, I quickly found there's a lot going on. It kind of has the best of both worlds because you have the small town that where people are respectful and want to connect. And then you have the aspect of the cities comes here during the summer and it shows up in the energy level and the activities that we have.

- And the community is very rich in celebrating people's abilities, especially when it comes to the arts. Battle Lake has embraced local artists and they put up all these mosaics around town, on benches and sides of buildings, places you wouldn't expect. They did a beautify Battle Lake where they had all the storefronts kind of redone. These are things that are great about Battle Lake, part of the reason why we always want to stay here. It's been a really good move for us. We were excited. We got plugged into a faith community right away, many choices with churches. And it's really great because the churches are unified as well.

- Battle Lake has residents that are young with children. Battle Lake has residents that are older and retired. Battle Lake provides for those residents of all ages. Between the businesses, the wonderful school we have in Battle Lake and the churches, everything that makes up Battle Lake. Battle Lake is a great community to work, live and play in.
