The collector car market is undergoing a massive transition, and as we begin this latest decade, we are already seeing Toyota Supra's for sale in the USA with six-figure price tags. It's no secret what sells, and those models equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox and the 2JZ-GTE are the ones to have. For those looking for the most desirable Supra ever, you need not look any further. This 1993 JZA80 coupe is offered with only 80K verified miles and is finished in the classic Toyota Black (202). The body is in good shape other than some minor dings and chips associated with normal use. Unmolested and well cared for over the course of its life, this Supra would make a great weekend car, daily driver, or appreciating investment.

The interior of the Supra is lifted straight out of the 1990s and has aged surprisingly well. Everything is driver-oriented as the gauges, driver controls, and vents are all angled towards the driver giving a very fighter pilot cockpit feel. A tilt wheel and power mirrors, locks, and windows are what you'd expect from a grand tourer such as this, and all come standard. You can tell that the Supra was a cut above most JDM vehicles, and the leather-lined, stitched armrests allude to. The interiors also are quieter and have fewer squeaks and rattles than our normal sports cars do. The dash is in good shape and doesn't suffer from any major imperfections such as cracking or discoloration which these are prone to. The glovebox fitment isn't always the best in the JZA80, and there is some light staining to note on the driver's seat and carpets. The OEM mats are included to keep the carpets from additional staining. The gauges work as they should, but intermittently the tach needle will die and resuscitate itself. It's a relatively common issue with Toyotas contact points getting a bit loose over time. The steering wheel and shift boot also have some light wear, but as a whole, the interior is quite impressive. The shift knob has been replaced with a brand new one, and is in mint condition; it feels perfect in the palm of your hand. The factory head unit has been swapped out for a Kenwood unit and it supplies the speakers with tunes when necessary. The headliner and door cards are in good nick, and the digital climate system works to keep anyone in the cabin at their optimal temperature.

The drivetrain used in JZA80 turbo cars is legendary. This 2JZ-GTE needs little introduction, and the twin-turbo 3.0L unit really is a gem. We have performed a fresh semi-synthetic oil service and Virginia state police safety inspection to ensure this thing can immediately hit the road. Twist the key and the straight-six fires up and sets into a nearly vibration-free idle. The power comes on quickly and runs through the bulletproof V160 six-speed unit. That many forward gears were uncommon at the time and these transmissions alone routinely sell for 10K+ without the car attached to it! The manual tranny is nice and notchy and doesn't grind or clunk when changing gears. The coupe effortlessly accelerated up to and above legal speeds. Top-end power is unreal and the little Supra never seems to stop pulling when you keep your foot in it. The traction control was disabled in Japan, so you can step out the rear end if you are on the track, of course. The suspension rides well over large and small bumps seen here stateside and the brakes are impressive. The five-spoke wheels have been refinished and are wrapped in new rubber, mounted, and balanced by one of our trained techs. Plenty of traction is available in the wet and dry, and the car sticks to the road like it's on rails.

As perhaps the most iconic JDM vehicle ever produced the Supra sits atop the JDM car market and may soon be unaffordable. This grand tourer has looks that can kill, and performance that's out of this world. This certified Japanese Classic is as good as advertised, and you won't want to miss out!

*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB complaint first. CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K. Additional information can be found on the California Air Resources Board website.
