Not many cars can reach the icon level that the R32 has hit. Most cars on that level are unobtainable to the average person, the 427 Cobra, GT40, the Mclaren F1, to name a few. The R32, on the other hand, is known worldwide for its prowess on and off the track, yet is actually within most of our reach. While the R32 isn't on the same level of performance, it does have a reputation for being a proper sports coupe. A brooding turbocharged straight-six upfront, send it's power through a proper gearbox, to the wheels out back making it a blast every time you turn the key. Our '93 GTS-t Type-M is a sterling example of what made these cars so great. Finished in an iconic Gun Gray Metallic (KH2) paint it looks great from every angle. The paint shows well for its age with only some routine scuffs and scratches from day to day driving. The body sports the full Type-M aero and is in great shape overall. Aside from a couple of door dings, there's nothing out of the ordinary to report. It even has the factory dual beam fog lights which are a nice touch on these dreary winter nights.
The interior has been kept pretty much all original and in above average condition. Both of the front seats are free of the typical bolster degradation or egregious staining. It typically goes without saying that the rear seats are just as nice seeing as not many people want to climb back there for a road trip. They do however offer a good bit of storage for a gym bag or groceries when you don't feel like dealing with the trunk. The other two particularly high wear items are the steering wheel and shift knob, which are both in pretty good shape considering the age. Usually, they get replaced at some point with aftermarket pieces, but the factory look is quite refreshing. There is a really nice gauge pod atop the dash, however, they are not currently hooked up. All of the factory accessories are functioning as they should. Power folding mirrors, power locks, one-touch windows, and automatic climate control. The radio was replaced at some point, however, most owners will want to put in something a bit more up to date that works here in the US. While these are known more for being sports coupes, Nissan didn't leave you feeling sparse like they did with some of their other chassis.
Under the hood is the fire breathing, yet dependable, RB20DET straight-six. This 2.0L fires up quickly and pulls strong to its 7,500 rpm redline. The whir of the turbo and the inline-six soundtrack is subtle thanks to its Fujitsubo catback exhaust. To help the turbo breathe a bit easier an HKS intake was fitted. The brakes feel assured and the factory suspension handles anything you throw at it with ease. This platform stays flat in the twisties and feels more than capable if you road surfaces are less than ideal. The steering feels tight and nicely weighted and translates road feel well to the pilot. With a set of a fresh set of rubber, new fuel sock and filter, this GTS-T is ready for the open tarmac. We also went ahead and put on a new serpentine belt, front tie rod, and a routine oil change to make sure everything is up to par. Thanks to importing regulations you can finally put a Skyline in your actual garage, not just the one in Grand Tourismo.
