What Is Genioplasty?

So anyone who has taken pictures of themselves knows their chin protection is one of the most important defining and aesthetic features of their face.

Even a slight change in the projection of the height of the chin can change the appearance of your face or even the age of your face.

Procedure Of Genioplasty-

We separate the chin bone from the rest of the lower jaw, and after we separate, we can move it in any direction. We can take it forward, set it back, move it right or left, increase the length, or decrease the length depending on what you want. And then we fix the chin in its new position using plates and screws.

Genioplasty can be used to make your face more youthful, more masculine, more feminine, or more symmetrical depending on what you need.

As an added advantage, whenever we bring the thing forward apart from giving you a better side profile, getting rid of troublesome double chin gives you a more beautiful chiselled appearance for that perfect selfie.

Before going to Genioplasty, it is important to understand that the male chin is different from the female chin.

Male chins are larger, wider, angular, and sharper, whereas female chins are softer, rounded, and slightly receded.

How To Decide Whether You Need a Genioplasty

To get the surgery done-
You must be over 22-23yrs of age
If you feel is that your chin is either too prominent, too receded, too long, too short, too narrow and centred, or asymmetrical.

How To Properly Assess Your Chin

Rest your face in natural head position-
Sit upright on a chair and look either far into the distance or straight at the wall in front of you. Your head will automatically rest in the natural head position. If you take a picture of your face in a natural head position, you will be able to properly assess the chin projection and decide whether it needs correction.
