A movement response of my learning during my time on the Foundation course to Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Goldsmith University 2020/2021.
“Creating a safe psychological space through containment, allowing peaceful thought processes and wisdom to grow and develop can lead to peaceful resolutions in our troubled world today” (Rustomjee ,2001,2004).
The idea of containment, content in my own boundary, giving space for reflection, peaceful sounds of nature.
Themes of nature, horizons, sunlight, pouring sand and water have reoccurred with my physical practice.
A feeling of full circle.
‘In the art of thought’ (1926) Graham Wallas theory on the 4 cyclical stages of the creative process model: The Preparation, theoretical knowledge in term 1; Incubation and Illumination over term 2 with the solo practice and exploration of holding space and witnessing the group. Finally, Verification, reflecting the year and my personal journey in term 3.
