William Rucker Marrin
March 15, 1934 – April 10, 2021
William Rucker “Fox” Marrin, 87 years of age, lost his long battle with diabetes on April 10, 2021 in his home in Sandy Spring, GA surrounded by his children, wife, and loving caregivers. Fox was born in Richmond, Virginia in 1934 to Edward and Margaret Marrin and was raised on Hanover Avenue along with his four siblings (Edward, Tommy, Jane and Suzanne).
He was educated in Richmond, VA and attended St. Benedict’s School, Cathedral High School and Thomas Jefferson High School. It was during these years where he received his lifelong nickname “Fox” due to his prowess on the basketball court. He was drafted into the Army in 1954 and reported to Fort Jackson, SC for training. His military service took him to Camp Gordon, GA and onto Stuttgart, Germany where he served as a communications specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1956 and returned home to complete his studies at the University of Richmond where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1959.
