Hi friends,

The other day, I had an interesting conversation with some of my friends.

They work either in education or software development,

It means they're well placed to see this trend coming into our lives.

I'm talking about online learning.

You see, even before the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic,

many people were taking online courses.

But the goal of taking those courses was different.

They were used to get specific education, not as an only alternative.

I am Binay; talking with you Why Self-learning is the Key to all Skills.

One of my friends, a university professor, says

students now question the old model of education.

They've tried online education.

Some of them said they would like to continue the online way.

because it saves time and is cheaper as they

don't have to commute or even live in the city.

The other friend, a software engineer, agreed with him.

He said that most of his colleagues have improved

In-demand skills by taking online courses.

And they're perfecting this skill in online groups.

So, for some people, online learning is already a preferred way of improving skills.

But here's the thing...

Online learning is still far from perfect.

There's a lot of room for improvement which means that some

new players can emerge on the market with superior service.

If they could offer low prices as well, this could change things dramatically.

Just think about this...

If the average cost of college fee is $15k/year for public institutions.

and $30k/year for private ones.

Imagine what would happen if someone offered a $5k/year online university education.

Now, I'm not saying that online education is the ultimate solution.

It has its own limitations, of course.

The number one problem is the lack of support you get compared to traditional, in-person education.

It's much harder to reach out to teachers and ask for help online.

And you hardly interact with other students as easily.

But I believe it's a fair deal if you're also paying a couple of times less for online education.

You get what you paid for and in the time you choose.

Also, I know that self-guided learning that comes with online learning is a skill that everyone

can master.

So, you don't need professors as much as you'd think.

How do I know that?

I bet, if you have the inclination, you can learn almost anything on your own,

or with minimum support from others.

That's why I think online education will go fully main-stream, sooner or later.

And when that happens, self-guided learning will become more important than ever.

You can check out from internet, a self-learning online course in your field today.

If you need help, please tell me in the comments section.
