Meet Renee Uropi Bani, a Student Midwife currently enrolled in her second year at The University of Technology, Sydney. Through her own birthing experience, Renee became interested in women’s health, which led her to pursue her “forever career,” midwifery. Although she is in her early days as a midwife, she recognises that helping a new mother meet her baby is an indescribable feeling. Renee is passionate about advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and is proud of what she has accomplished so far. “I really want to make a change for our mob, and I want to leave a footprint there for others to carry on.”
