What the majority of people see as a famous image, the Katsushika Hokusai’s print entitled “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”, someone else turns it into a vision to treat ovarian cancer, one of the women's most deadly diseases.
It is the idea developed by Simone Pisano, 27 years old, whose challenges started when he decided to move from Udine (Italy) to Swansea (UK), then to Houston (US).
“The idea is to exploit biological nanoparticles that can stimulate the patient's immune system and help it to fight the tumor”, Simone states.
He is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. in Nanomedicine at Swansea University with the Houston Methodist Research Institute (HMRI).
Here's another inspiring video for "Passion for Science", a Series I released for Corradetti Lab at HMRI, to tell stories about young researchers and their visionary dream.
