Panspermia is the hypothesis that life exists throughout the Universe, distributed by meteoroids, asteroids, comets, planetoids and space craft in the form of unintended contamination by microorganisms.
The title sequence for this self-conceived show explores the theme of intergalactic organism’s presence on Earth as research is conducted to accurately determine if foreign life lives among us at the turn of a new decade. Images are quickly strung together allowing an overall dialect and discovery of information to occur as the viewer is bombarded with visual clues. Some information is presented more subtly, while others are at the forefront of delivery.
In order to create the auditory and kinetic visual elements, I was inspired by the possibilities that come from experimentation outside the computer lab, shooting video at warehouses across town, conducting YouTube science experiments in my backyard, and finding the obscure in my day to day environment to photograph and video.
