This weekend in the Pilates Teacher Mastermind VIP group, I am co-teaching an online workshop with my friend and colleague, Pilates Teacher and Neuroscientist Greg Youdan.

Most of us who teach Pilates do not have a science background. We often times teach intuitively, and use cues that we learned, and that may or may not really work for us or our clients.

In addition to teaching Pilates, Gregory Youdan Jr., MA, MS is a PhD student in Kinesiology at Teachers College, Columbia University. He is an adjunct instructor in the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences and is the lab manager of the Neurorehabilitation Research Laboratory.
In this workshop Greg and I will:
Explore what it means to teach Pilates so clients can learn - an evidence-based approach to optimize skill learning in the Pilates studio.
Break down the science of motor learning and skill acquisition (including the importance of allowing your clients to fail).
Show you how to use these methods in the Pilates studio to make it easier for you to teach and for your clients to learn.
Greg will be joining me again for Workshop 12 on 12/15/19, looking at Pilates for clients with neurological disorders (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, MS).
