After a GDPR request to Facebook, I discovered that the company uses all of the data it gathers from each user to generate a list of interests that are supposedly the most relevant for the user itself.
My personal list features, among others, pop singers, washing machines (?), vintage clothing and obviously graphic design.
I researched the way machine learning algorithms work, and I fed my list into an algorithm that creates synthetic images from text; I edited the resulting images into a metaphor on the loops those algorithms go through before producing acceptable results.
