Since becoming an engineer in 2012, She has been passionate about helping underrepresented people join, feel comfortable in, and stay in the software industry.

To that end, She:

founded and run Techtonica, a tuition-free tech training and job placement program for women and non-binary adults in need,
speak about diversity topics, such as impostor syndrome, how to include class straddlers in tech, microaggressions, and building a safe environment,
develop Twilio's dev community,
lead PyLadies SF, Diversity Advocates, and a group called LadyNerds,
wrote a viral tweet about managers covering up lack of pay, title, and team using praise, and
created the #ILookLikeAnEngineer ad campaign in 2015.

In 2016, LinkedIn chose me as one of the top 10 professionals in software for their first "Next Wave" list. When I'm not doing techie or community things, I enjoy baking (and consuming the goods), burying myself in a book, going on hikes, and dog-watching.

MOTO :
The objective here is to inspire women to step into, which have predominantly been male dominated industries, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). This competition aims to enthuse women to be more entrepreneurial and empowering them with the necessary business skills needed to be entrepreneurs.

Women in STEM, an initiative by Meera Kaul Foundation, will recognize and reward women entrepreneurs and executives at the Women in STEM Conference and Awards Ceremony which will be held in Dubai on January 15th, 2015.

The initiative offers STEM entrepreneurs an opportunity to share their inspirational stories, personal and professional, in the form of a two minute video. The contestants can record their video even from their cell phones. The winners will be selected on the basis of their promoting ambition and resilience and not the success or failure of the venture or job. The videos will be aired at Women in STEM Awards 2015
