Our second marker in the lawn care season is Memorial Day weekend. This holiday weekend typically signals warmer temperatures and different lawn maintenance requirements. Watch this video with Noelle, Horticulturist and Education Director with Petitti Garden Centers, to learn what to do this time of year to prepare your lawn for success. Two key things this time of year are proper watering, and proper mowing technique. This is also the time of year to apply Step® 2 in a 4-step lawn fertilizing program. Remember, this step requires a different application process. The key thing to remember with this step is to ensure at least 24 hours of dry weather before watering so it has proper time to control weeds. You can spot control for weeds with products such as Weed Beater® Ultra, Weed Beater® Fe, and Chickweed Clover & Oxalis Killer. Prevent bug and grub issues with products such as GrubEx® or Ortho® BugClear.
