In the not too distant future, a democratically elected Fascist government is set up in Portugal. During a night of humiliation, citizen Raymond (Dominique Pinon) lives an inner revolt and a kaleidoscopic journey in a country that is about to collapse.
Director Edgar Pêra says he started thinking about the film several years ago with an idea to create a science fiction movie. However, "Twelve years later, with the rise of fundamentalist forces throughout the world, the story is almost hyper-realistic."
