Funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the IMCHA project “Integrating a neonatal healthcare package for Malawi” is so excited to share some of the amazing female leaders in research and medicine we have the honour of working with!

On this International Women's Day 2019, we are proud to introduce:

Dr Queen Dube, Consultant Pediatrician and Head of Pediatrics and Child Health at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi and the Policy Principal Investigator on the IMCHA project. She has been identifying challenges in neonatal care as well as developing and implementing innovative technology solutions with collaboration of Rice University at nurseries to help save babies lives!

Dr Linda Nyondo-Mipando, the first ever female Deputy Dean of the School of Public Health and Family Medicine at the University of Malawi College of Medicine and the Health Systems Principal Investigator on the IMCHA project. She is passionate about health systems and implementation science with an aim of improving the delivery of various evidence-based interventions for maternal and child health in low-resource settings.

Dr Tamanda Hiwa-Maliro,pediatric registrar at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital and Co-Investigator on the “Integrating a neonatal healthcare package for Malawi” IMCHA project. She is leading the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and Exclusive Breastfeeding Support (EBS) Quality Improvement component to strengthen care at district level facilities for low birth weight babies.
