Over the past year, while the museum has been closed on-site, activities for children were moved online. Craftsman Kids began as a way to serve our youngest audience when they were "stuck at home" during COVID-19-related shutdowns. These projects, a collaborative effort undertaken by Kristen McCauley, Senior Manager of Education and Josilyn Perez, Visitor Services Associate, have been focused on simple nature and upcycling crafts intended to inspire screen-free (Kristen would say "analog") activities and encourage kids to work with their hands--and maybe even get their hands dirty!
