For example, they enhance literary knowledge, and increase vocabulary, tolerance, empathy, the ability to read emotions, and innovative thinking. The Popejoy Schooltime Series at the University of New Mexico's historic Popejoy Hall reflects the cultural diversity of our global community and is designed to encourage literacy, creativity, communication, and imagination for students. The performances connect to the National STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) Common Core Standards. The program is celebrating its 20th year, and to date has introduced more than 500,000 Albuquerque-area children to the performing arts.
