"The Bridgetown Regional Community School was designed for 500 students. In keeping with the agricultural heritage of the region, the School was designed for sustainability and contemporary thought in education with its complex nuances and evolving priorities. Energy and water efficiency, and healthy indoor environments informed each design decision.
The central theme focused on inspiring and motivating students to embrace learning; to pique their curiosity, challenge their intellects and to enjoy the rich social milieu of the school experience. Understanding that no two students learn the same, varied learning environments throughout the school and within the instructional spaces are designed with students’ learning needs in mind. The design blurs the lines between the traditional classroom space and the circulation areas and connects students together through the village square that acts as the connecting hub between the instructional spaces and the specialty classrooms."
