Hi, I am Christi Eden and I am the director of co-curricular engagement in the Brian Lamb School of Communication. As well as the agency advisor for Boiler Communication, the student-run agency here at Purdue.

Boiler Communication is a student-run agency within the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. We create comprehensive communication campaigns for internal and external clients, currently working with 21 different clients, ranging from on-campus clients to nationwide clients.

My favorite part about Boiler Communication is the aspect of student engagement. I love working with students. I love putting, you know, the theory to use, hands on experience teaching by doing. Watching a student go from “I know nothing about PR” to earning a job before they even graduate is huge, very fulfilling. We also are able to have more experiential learning courses, have stronger student organizations, and stronger programming. And at the end of the day we can also have stronger alumni relations as well. It’s vital for us to work with our community and to be a good neighbor to Lafayette and West Lafayette, and my role as director of co-curricular engagement as well as the agency advisor allows me to work directly with community partners, day in and day out.

I think it really allows the students to feel like they are serving their home, their college home that they're at for the four years, and I know it's very fulfilling for all parties to work together.
