So worth the money. Don’t spend thousands on a version that will someday be a rusted heap. I appreciate the plastic body that is easily painted to any design, I got the upgrade with steel tracks, wheels and ‘metal gearbox’ that is very literal. The gearbox is metal with cover, but nylon gears. The nylon gears have a clutch that clicks when you are over stressing the tank, that could burn out a board. That being said. First thing I did was over oil the smoke unit. It needs almost NOTHING to smoke. So, I replaced the cotton, added four drops and smoke was pouring out. Well... lol... I was burning cotton. But? It took the initial abuse and did fine. Then I did exactly what is said not to do. I ran through 10” grass and the flower beds by accident, drove it hard chased the cat and shot the vacuum cleaner with the soft pellet while she was vacuuming..... I’ve noticed the clutch slips a lot in tall grass, that being said I had grass woven in and out of the wheels.
So after about an hour of serious abuse, I had purchased an extra admiral 3500mAh battery, I took it apart and looked. Looks fine. Works fine. My plan is to wear the heck out of it, have a great time, and upgrade parts as they wear out. I would stick with Heng Long, as, a heavy steel body may have cool effect, but if your seriously going to get damp, muddy, and hit stuff your going to have a hard time keeping that painted and rust free. Also, more weight, is gear and motor strain, more voltage, higher temps, then a fan the upgrades never stop .......The heng long you only need to upgrade what you break. If I wear out the gears? Fine. I’ll get steel ones. I’ve got a Sherman on the way. Laser battle is ON
