Sound Terminus was invited by the Liang County Tourist Board to record the everyday cultural sounds of Litang County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Colin Siyuan Chinnery went to Litang in July 2019, where he traveled throughout the region and recorded as much as he could in the time available. The sound recordings were then made available to the public at a small museum called the Litang Himalayas Sound Museum, as a substation of Sound Terminus. This project is ongoing.
During a recording session at a farm house, we heard that farmers were singing while picking herbs nearby. So we rushed over to record them. The two best singers were extremely shy, and only agreed to sing for us after their friends spent a long time persuading them.
