With this mock title sequence, I wanted to capture equal measures of abstracted violence and tongue-in-cheek visual gags to evoke the ridiculous yet powerful premise behind Stephen King’s The Long Walk. I am a long time fan of Saul Bass, and hopefully I channeled some of his dynamism with abstractions in this video. I utilized simple shapes with unifying textures, as well as a mix of camera tricks and forced perspectives to imbue this sequence with a sense of motion and unease. Hopefully, the viewer will not know what’s coming next in any given moment.
