Her name was Lisbeth and she had long, blond hair and bright blue eyes. She had as many outside Scandinavia thinks, a real “Swedish Girl” look. I was in love as only a teenager can be; you know, if I couldn’t be her boyfriend, I would certainly die! And at the same time, if she looked at me: I was dead!
Lisbeth lived in a white house about a mile from where I lived. One noticeable feature with her parents house was that it had a very blue front door. Every afternoon after school, I went on my bicycle to her house, hoping to get a glimpse of her. If not more than her passing behind the windows. If she opened the (blue) door and came out, I was in Heaven!...and hid behind a bush as fast as I could! I have no idea, how many hours I spent waiting outside her door, but there were many.
I never told Lisbeth I loved her. I can’t even remember if I ever talked to her… and, of course, I never became her boyfriend. I still wonder if she ever even noticed me…
