Story of the Maguey is an excerpt from a larger broadcast commissioned by LACMA in the summer of 2020 in which members of the VIBRATION GROUP transmitted to Earth the daily studies, meditations and activities they partake in aboard their spacecraft. Blurring the boundaries between lecture and story, Tlapitzalli leads a decolonial botanical study in which they discuss the complex pollination cycle of the Maguey (Agave americana) as well as the Aztec origin story of this plant- the story of the goddess Mayahuel.
