The Concept
Solitude could be given as a gift. Let us think of it as an opposite of loneliness but also as an antidote to the constant bombardment of noise and intolerable loudness, which surround us every day. Solitude is the space we would like to go to but more often than not, are unsure how to get there. We are increasingly willing to pay handsome amounts of money for noise-cancelling headphones or week-long meditation retreats. Instigation of Solitude and the ability to quickly look deeper into ourselves could be achieved with the help of Music and Silence working together. Quiet Music, at the threshold of perception, alternated with periods of silence. The quietest music ever composed and performed live. The piano will be my accomplice in leading you, the audience, on the path to Solitude. You will need to sit closely to me and absorb the sounds as well as the images projected from above on the white-covered piano, on the white floor and on the white capes I will ask you to wear. Maybe you only make the first step on that path, maybe you only manage to get to the door and feel the handle. Or maybe you walk through it with me and peek at what is on the other side. The fact is that the 60 minutes of your life you would surrender when you walk on that stage will give you a chance to receive that gift. The gift of your own Solitude.
