Hi Robin,
Welcome to my bedroom. This is a little experiment I made for you this morning with a Moog Werkstatt through MAX/MSP cycling the signal through a gate routed to 4 speakers. Obviously, the iphone doesn't pick up the spatiality but you can hear the speaker change when the tone changes.
