This video details the process of creating Heirloom, a project designed to study overlapping timelines across various scenarios.
Over the course of two weeks, I explored a new approach to technical and creative problem solving that hinged on time-management. As a creative, I'm aware of how easy it is to become dazed during the creation process - this became a way of discovering optimal solutions, whilst maintaining that initial creative vision.
The most challenging aspect was finding communication and flow through the medium. Upon completion, I had leapt in my ability to craft a piece of story; while mitigating its technical aspects.
I had gone even further technically by applying Houdini for fluid simulations within that time frame. This was made possible by the fabulously documented manuals and resources provided by SideFX.
The overall staging and animation was made in Cinema 4D, rendered with Octane (4 x GTX 1080) and composited in After Effects.
