February was all about Level 3 of Piano Marvel.
I did revive my old music Moleskine notebook, and I love it. The first entry in that moleskins is from 2005. Back then, I was learning about guitar chords and triads. When I was at music school, I was using it to take notes of every lesson with every teacher. There are excellent notes there. I have retaken it to trace scales, songs, and the sight-reading effort. I will probably fill it during the year. That will make me happy.
On the 25th, I finished the 3-D level. It took me 16 days to complete. The new 3-E level looks interesting, but the first assessments look like a review of all the topics on the other levels. Lets see if I manage to do this one a fit faster. Once done that I will be in the middle of the method, but the path ahead is the challenging one.
I feel like I’m gaining a bit of muscle but not that much. Still, the most straightforward music piece seems highly challenging. At times I feel a bit stressed by the whole process. Not the kind of stress in which I think I should be doing more, but instead the feeling of wanting to finish with it to be good at playing. I know it will take years to get even close to being acceptable at playing and reading.
This month’s song was easy. I pick up this one because it is beautiful. The Score is from FlowKey, and I had to transcribe it myself not to lose it. I will not be renewing this service and will expire next month. “Amazing Grace” was a Christian hymn published in 1779. Now it is more like a folk song and on the piano sounds very nice. There was a lesson in Piano Marvel based on it, and I move to FlowKey to learn how to play it. Next month I might take something more complicated, but for this month I am happy with the result.
