The exhibit, ‘Pedaling Back’ transports the user back to the Sydney Olympics where they will be able to experience the technological advancement that was brought to the velodrone. Since the bike was made for
the track, it is only fitting to display it in a place with an exhilarating atmosphere. Using virtual reality, they will be able to interact with the Olympic Superbike. By selecting certain parts and components, a guide will then reveal interesting details about the bike and other fun facts. The objective is to use modern technology to provide an immersive experience for all visitors, generating a sense of interest and curiosity.

This design is part of the student learning experience in 87009 or 87445 VC Design Studio: Visualising Experience Spring 2021 in the Faculty of Design Architecture and Built Environment (DAB) University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and is not a professional design outcome. This project was developed under the guidance of studio leaders and demonstrators. As a response to a notional assessment brief, it is not directly connected to the Powerhouse Museum.
