I created this patch in Max/MSP for a live scoring of the film Nosferatu. It's an algorithmic music generator that uses the concept of canon. All music is created based on a simple short list of notes of a specified 'mode' which is then played by all instruments with varying delays and octave displacements. The violin and clarinet play the lead melody; the flute is delayed by a user specified amount of time; and the bass plays the row of notes with certain notes omitted in order to be more sparse.
This is just a demo, as transitions between modes are not yet smooth.
