The initial idea I had for this short was something along the lines of “dark times have bright outcomes”. I struggled to come up with ways to show this on film. This was due to me only being free one day and it also being a solo project. There isn't any dialogue in the short as I wanted some music and the footage to both create a confused mood throughout a majority of it. Near the end the song mellows out and fits with the relief of not being lost anymore.
The final video follows the story of an individual being lost and wondering about hopelessly. Then a sudden surge of inspiration causes the character (Me) to return home to look into this. I was talking to my friend on the phone about ideas to really show the “bright” theme and we both agreed to include some sort of positive outcome at the end, this being the discovery of the Napier course.
The song used is ‘Is It Alright’ by Maya Isac. Not using this for commercial use.
