Wie entsteht ein Raum und was macht einen Raum zum lebbaren Raum? Wie sieht ein Raum aus, in dem man sich gegenseitig vertraut? Die audiovisuelle Performance Interleaved Space nimmt sich diese Fragen zum Ausgangspunkt. Durch die Verflechtung experimenteller Klangpraxis und Videoarbeiten wird reflektiert, wie kollektiv nicht-hierarchische, nicht-repressive Räume zum gesellschaftlich Realen gemacht werden können, ohne sich in vorgegebenen Haltungen und geregelten Redeweisen zu verfangen. Wenn es nichts Statisches in der Natur gibt, wie könnten es die Räume sein? Eine „graue Zone“* in Zeit und Raum.
Modifizierte Geräusche der Umgebung, Musik und Sprache mischen sich, überlagern sich mit virtuellen und doch real erscheinenden Bildern, reagieren aufeinander; sie illustrieren allerdings nicht, sondern sie locken listig heraus. Klänge und das Flimmern der Pixel fordern das Publikum auf, sich zu bewegen, Wege zu gehen und zu ergründen, wo der Raum anfängt und wo er endet, Raum, der aus Klängen, Licht, Bewegungen wird …

Interleaved Space II ist eine ephemere Veranstaltung, wobei sowohl die Videokonstellation als auch die sie begleitende Musikkomposition extra für diesen Abend vorbereitet wird.
Die Installation findet einmalig statt. Dauer ca. 50 min.

How does space come into being and what makes it livable? What does a room of mutual trust look like? The audiovisual performance Interleaved Space takes these questions as a starting point. The intertwining of experimental sound practice and video reflects on how non-hierarchical, non-repressive spaces can be built collectively, how they can become social-real without being caught in predetermined attitudes and regulated speech. If there is nothing static in nature, how could space be static? A 'grey zone'* in time and space.
Modified sounds of the environment, music, and language mix; they overlap with virtual but real appearing images, acting on each other; they do not illustrate but cunningly elicit. Sounds and flickering pixels invite the audience to move, to walk, and to fathom where space begins and where it ends, a space that is made up of sounds, light, and movement….

Sandrine Deumier
Sandrine Deumier is an author, video artist and performer
With her dual philosophical and artistic training, Sandrine Deumier constructed a multifaceted poetry focused on the issue of technological change and the performative place of poetry conceived through new technologies. Using material from the word as image and the image as a word vector, she also works at the junction of video and sound poetry considering them as sensitive devices to express a form of unconscious material itself. The process of writing and the mobile material of the image function as underlying meanings of reflux which refer to the real flickering and to their reality transfers via unconscious thought structures. Her work consists mainly of texts, digital poetry, multimedia installations and audiovisual performances in collaboration with composers.

Wednesday Kim is an online based multi-media artist who was born in Korea (1985), immigrated to Los Angeles, U.S.A in her early teens. Kim studied in School Of Visual Arts in New York and has been moving around. Currently, Kim lives and works in Harbor City, California.

DJ Kohlrabi
DJ Kohlrabi is a project of Aiko Okamoto, in which the playing of the records is extended. For installations or film screenings, she mixes the modified sounds of her surroundings with the existing music pieces and creates new lewels in the room.

Dagmar Schürrer
Dagmar Schürrer is a Berlin-based video artist from Austria, who studied Fine Art at Central St. MartinsCollege of Art and Design in London. Since her graduation in 2011 her work was selected, amongst others,for New Contemporaries 2011 at the ICA, London, the 2013 Impakt Festival in Utrecht, NL, or the Fullframe Festival 2014 at the MUMOK Kino, Vienna. She was shortlisted for the Berlin Art Prize in 2013 and in 2016 she was accepted for the Goldrausch Künstlerinnen scholarship in Berlin. In both 2013 and 2016 she was shortlisted for the Tenderpixel Award in London, UK. 2016 she was selected to show her work at the 5th Moscow Biennale for Young Art
