SUMMARY

Gezek is a tradition of musical chat in Bursa for 650 years. The origin of this tradition goes back to the Ahi organization. Unlike other Anatolian musical conversation traditions, Gezek are bands where Turkish Art Music is at the center. There are countless artists trained in this structure, which has made great contributions to Turkish Art Music.

Gezek are in 5 separate communities in Bursa. Although there are slight differences between these communities, there are three basic teachings that bring them all together: love, respect, and music.

This documentary set out with the aim of revealing the recognition of the Gezek culture, which is in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and the contributions of this culture to Turkish Art Music, and has held a lens for 5 different Gezek communities in this context.

ÖZET

Gezek, Bursa’da 650 yıldır devam eden bir müzikli sohbet geleneğidir. Bu geleneğin kökeni Ahilik teşkilatına kadar dayanmaktadır. Gezek, diğer Anadolu müzikli sohbet geleneklerinden farklı olarak Türk Sanat Müziğinin merkezde olduğu topluluklardır. Türk Sanat Müziğine büyük katkıları olan bu yapıda yetişmiş sayısız sanatçı bulunmaktadır.

Gezek’ler Bursa’da 5 ayrı topluluk halindedir. Bu topluluklar arasında küçük farklılıklar olsa da hepsini bir araya getiren üç temel öğreti mevcuttur: sevgi, saygı ve müzik…

Bu belgesel, UNESCO İnsanlığın Somut Olmayan Kültürel Mirasının Temsili Listesi’nde bulunan Gezek kültürün tanınmasını, bu kültürün Türk Sanat Müziğine yaptığı katkıları ortaya koyma amacı ile yola çıkmış ve 5 ayrı Gezek topluluğuna bu bağlamda bir mercek tutmuştur.
