A concept for the video, a video for the concept. You see a guy who makes a modern cabin with his own hands (he uses the materials found in an authentic dump of an Italian city: 2 electro-welded meshes, a bituminous membrane, some stones and ailanthus branches). This primitive artwork has been made in order to read a loved book under the Sun; the cabinman discovers also the fire and the art of writing. Cozy Cabin Cabaret is an artwork about an artwork. The very artwork is the video itself, while the cabin is a momentary object (one of the infinite possibilities of recycle in an urban context). The performer, Massimo Sannelli, is an actor with a deep experience in the domain of manual labor, that’s why he can do such things. This video was made to show the real possibilities of a real person in a real condition: this odd cabin is not a definitive house, that’s for sure, but it is reliable for momentary actions, like reading a book or resting.
