When I was 16 years old, I experienced the culture shock of moving from a small city in Mexico, to a suburb of Chicago. I didn't have a lot of friends, and the only place I felt comfortable was behind the camera. I decided to make this music video of the song Chilanga Banda by Cafe Tacuva. The lyrics are essentially all Mexican Slang. I walked around my American high school with a tape recorder, playing sections of the song, and asking kids to lip sync to it for the camera. The result was this video.
