The summer in Colorado always ends magically. We were so fortunate to squeeze in some good time with our dear friends Andrew and Rachel Bond - who were visiting from Florida. Aaron and Andrew, and Rachel's brother, John, took all the big kids on a backpacking trip. Our living room was scattered in gear, extra this that and what have you the night before, and emotions were high as the kids prepared for their first trip with friends they love and cherish who live way too far away. The night was a little unexpected, with some night terrors and an evening chill that was a little more than unexpected -- but I think the memory of the trip will stand the test of time. That's what parents live for I guess.
Verity loves wiggling and making silly sounds and even lets big sister feed her baby food on occasion. Amity has loved reading to her and sharing her love of books. Everest loves to hold her and snuggle her. August was fabulous.
