This is a cover of the popular song "Alfonsina y el mar" (English: (Alfonsina and the Sea) by Mercedes Sosa, first performed in 1969. I composed the arrangement of this song from my heart after hearing it for the first time and learning about its story.
The story behind "Alfonsina y el mar" is a sad one, as it tells the story of Argentinian poet Alfonsina Storni and how she threw herself from a waterfall in Mar del Plata. She lived a tragic life, dealing with many hardships. Her last poem, "I'm going to sleep," is briefly mentioned in the chorus of this song.
