Marionette
A touching dramedy about Michal Navon, a military journalist, persistent in her investigation of the disappearance of an Israeli soldier in Lebanon, the son of Dana Berger. Whilst dealing with various obstructing forces, her cunning agent, Buli, “borrows” Michal’s life-savings in order to invest them in a new reality show “Funeral in the Stars”, which fulfills the winners‘ dream funeral!
Michal, along with the women closest to her, Maya, the producer, and Tali, her daughter, find themselves in an adventure of self-discovery of their new-found female abilities.
Tommy Lang, the director, creates films in the “Dogma 95” style, unique in the landscape of Israeli cinema. He puts creative and opinionated women front and center and depicts the Golden Age with a lot of self-humor and deep humanity.
