A few years ago a friend of mine, Howard Gurevich, was working on a creative project with author Colin Gillespie: the development and promotion of Gillespie's book "Time One." The book explores ideas in physics by using a private detective to investigate the beginning of the universe. Their company, Big Fizz Productions, commissioned me (and several others) to produce a number of short films around the themes of the book, as a way of "getting it out there." The book is a collage of ideas and interests, and makes use of a lot of motifs from film history. I chose to make my films collages too, of found footage, a lot of it grabbed off the Internet Archive. The first film I made for this project is in several chapters. The text quotes or paraphrases an early draft of the book.
