The Easington Colliery School was once a pillar of the local community but after closing it's doors in the mid 90s it has stood empty ever since. The residence of Easington are desperate to move forward and see the school demolished and the site redeveloped. Years of failed redevelopment plans has left residence with an unwanted reminder of the old Colliery, the Colliery that is synonyms with coal mining, the 1980s miners strike and the Colliery School.
